Evaluation.

For my final image we were asked to reproduce a famous image or an image of our choice.
I chose to replicate an image of singer which is a head and shoulder portrait in colour, the model has red/ginger hair pale skin so i needed to have a model for my images with the simliar features.
For my photograph I used a class mate (Libby Rosser).
The original image is a recent photograph and would have been take in the last three years and was taken in a studio which a grey backdrop.
I took my image in a field and later manipulated my background using Photoshop.
If i was to re-do my final image i would have planned it alot more and used a more interesting image to reproduce.
In comparison, my image is less airbrushed and the backdrop is a field unlike the grey backdrop in the original. Also her jumper is different because she has a pattern on hers and my image is just a plain jumper.

Final images.

Hand Painting.

Hand-colouring or hand painted images is where the photographer paints over a black and white image -years ago they painted over their black and white photographic prints but today to create different effects we have painted over laser jet black and white prints.

Typically water colours, oils or pastels are used and are applied using brushes, cotton or fingers.

This is an example of an image that has been hand painted.

Painting Task.

For this task we were asked to take a photograph of a person from head-to-toe.
Once this was completed, we edited them on Photoshop and made them black and white then printed them in A4.
Then we were given a range of paints and asked to fill in parts of the photograph, i think this effect makes the images look abstract,
I enjoyed this task and found it very enjoyable.
I also think the effect is very fun.
On the left are the before and after shots of todays task.

Many years ago this technique would have been used, although the images would have been produced in the dark room and later manipulated using paints.
